WHAT IS JUSTICE TEACHING?State and national surveys frequently suggest that Americans in general know little about the operation of the American justice system, and they do not understand the basic principles underlying our constitutional institutions and structures. NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR THE JUSTICE TEACHING SELECT COMMITTEE JUDGE OF THE YEAR AND THE JUSTICE TEACHING ATTORNEY/JUDGE VOLUNTEER OF THE YEARThe Law-Related Education Committee of The Florida Bar has announced that it will name a Justice Teaching Select Committee Judge and a Justice Teaching Volunteer of the Year during the Annual Bar Convention. These awards will be given to the select committee judge and the volunteer who have most exemplified the spirit and purpose of Justice Teaching; that is, dedication to the bringing of civic education to the children of Florida. The Law-Related Education Committee is currently seeking nominations for these prestigious awards. Anyone who knows a Justice Teaching select committee judge or volunteer who has gone above and beyond the call of duty with regard to Justice Teaching is encouraged to nominate him or her for an award.
