"What a wonderful experience! The class was hesitant to participate at first and appeared to be trying to maintain a "tough" and disinterested facade. However, once they realized that the discussion related to real life situations and that we wanted them to talk to us, even the most reticent children began participating. By the end we were having a really spirited discussion about constitutional rights with kids that, I get the feeling, don't open up to much in class. All in all alot of fun."

PARTICIPATION

Volunteers are needed to partner with local schools and serve as resource persons in the classroom. If you enjoy working with students and helping teach about the courts, our governmental structure, and the Constitution, we welcome your help.

You will be contributing to an ongoing exercise in democracy and helping our next generation become better prepared to understand, protect, and improve our institutions of democracy.

Using our Web Application, volunteers sign in to our on-line application system using your Florida Bar number to register for the program. Volunteers may select a from a list of available schools in their area. A time commitment of no more than two hours a month will be needed. Activities and lessons will be provided via a secure web site.

Training will be held throughout the year at Bar conventions as well as local venues. See the calendar page for details.
